EARMA Framework 7 Working Group

In January 2006, the EARMA Executive Committee decided to set up a new Working Group dedicated to the Framework 7 Programme (FP7). EARMA members were invited to apply to join this Working Group, and a selection of 8 members was made from over 30 applicants. The mission of this Group is to provide European research managers with a platform to identify and resolve administrative, non-scientific issues related to the implementation of FP7.

It is essential that FP7 projects are implemented smoothly and efficiently so that they may deliver high-quality research outputs. The remit of the FP7 Working Group will cover a broad range of issues, including financial, contractual, IPR, and so on. The main objectives of this Working Group are to;

  1. Identify common concerns amongst our members regarding management and implementation of FP7 projects, and to propose possible solutions
  2. Communicate these concerns to the European Commission on a regular basis
  3. Engage in constructive dialogue with the Commission to resolve these issues by providing constructive feedback and possible solutions
  4. Agree on best practice in FP7 project management and disseminate this to our members across all regions of the European research management community
  5. Prioritise specific training and development needs and propose appropriate methods to address these
