Comment by VARUN ARORA on June 29, 2011 at 4:01am: Generally ethical issues in such projects are addressed by local ethical committees, which take into account the regional/local issues, priorities of research and trade off between burden of problem and the cost of research (both tangible and intangible). The general principles that govern ethical management in a researrch project are - minimizing the human and nature cost, following an unbiased study plan and keeping tabs on the economic costs of the project. This forum is here as we all want to address the problem in a more organized and scientific manner - keeping basic tenets of management i.e. planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling the research activity to have an ethical framework.

As it is not an object oriented research hence it is often misleading. As a major proportion of preliminary studies are based on the findings of academic research - a transparent system is essential.
