Visit to Braganca by EARMA Delegation: A Resounding Success!

Delegates can expect a conference to remember this June: that was the conclusion following a visit to finalise arrangements for the Annual Conference in Braganaca.  Representing the Board, Jan Andersen (Chair), local organiser Jose Leite and David Lauder together with Anna Groeninx, Chair of ACC (Annual Conference Committee) met with the President of the local municpality, Jorge Nunes, and also João Sobrinho Teixeirathe President of IPB Instituto Politecnico de Bragança, the venue for the conference.   As well as touring the venue and checking on the organisational details with other local organisers, notably Annabela Martins, the visit was an ideal opportunity to build on the excellent relationship with the municipality, who, along with our sponsors, are providing much generous support for the event. 

A press conference involving the local TV station also represented an opportunity to showcase the event, see video.

As Jan Andersen explains:

We wanted to ensure that all the arrangements were properly in place to ensure that delegates can experience both a professionally rewarding conference and also an enjoyable one   We were highly delighted with the degree of commitment and warm hospitality of the municipality and venue hosts.

Further benefits for delegates include free transport to and from Porto airport to the venue and one free night’s accommodation for those staying 4 nights.  Jose Leite will shortly contact delegates with details of the arrangements.

But delegates will also be able to benefit from an interesting cultural programme.  Entertainment during the conference dinner will include local dancing.  On Friday evening the dinner will be provided courtesy of the local municipality and will be followed by a special performance by Katia Guerreiro a renowned Fado Singer, at the Municipal Theatre in Bragança.
