Good news from Sweden! Establishment of the Swedish Association of Research Managers and Administrators -SWARMA

After about 20 years of informal networking between the EU and national administrators at Sweden’s Universities and Colleges (EU R&D and network of Swedish Funders), the decision has been made to combine two networks and move from informal groups to a formal organisation with the suggested working name SWARMA – Swedish Association of Research Managers and Administrators.

For a number of years, EU administrators at Sweden’s universities and colleges have only networked informally. They meet a couple of times a year at different places in Sweden. The Network had a virtual meeting place @EU/FOU-egroups where members could chat, mail, work on common documents, vote, publish information about the calls – and other things that are beneficial to share between the members.

The upcoming statutory annual meeting for the new organisation will be held on the 21st October 2019 in Stockholm, where the future of the association will be decided.

At the annual meeting statutes for the association will be adopted and the Board will be elected.

The working group responsible for the organisational changes are:

  • Eva-Lisa Ahnström,
  • Margareta Bäckström Lindgren,
  • Kristina Orbán Meunier,
  • Sari Saarela
  • Rangnar Nilsson.
